A UK based amateur writer aspiring to join the ranks of the professionals. Finally getting to grips with the whole online blogging and e-publishing. In the meantime a bit of background information about myself: middle aged man, one grown up son, widower, currently working in the transport industry. Like most amateur and aspiring writers, still working on a novel I hope to finish sometime in the near future, though I did at last publish in March 2015 my debut anthology of short stories, Not What You Thought? and other surprises: an anthology of my short stories, and several guest contributions. All the author royalties were originally being donated to the ‘Forget_Me_Not’ charity which provided help to homeless ex-servicemen and those affected by PTSD. Sadly due to health issues with one of its founders the charity ceased to be active in 2017 so any sales royalties will now be donated to a number of other military service related charities.
Aside from writing, also have a love of the great outdoors – walking, scrambling, climbing, road cycling & mountain biking, interests I hope to reflect in some of my posts here.
Please feel free to offer any advice and suggestions regarding its design and layout etc as it would be much appreciated. Needless to say any feedback on any of my posts definitely most welcome!
Feel free to contact, look me up, or even just say hello at any of the following:
On the left, my first book, originally in aid the ‘forget-me-not’ charity in aid of homeless ex service men. Due to health issues with one of the charities founders the said charity is longer active so any sales royalties now go to a variety of military service related charities,
The book on the right is an anthology of short stories in aid of the cancer support charity, MacMillan Nurses, a book that I am extremely proud to have contributed one of my own short stories to. And the central picture, a shot of my beloved Land Rover, a symbol of adventure and freedom, the latter as it happens is to be the theme of the soon to be published 2nd book in aid of MacMillan Nurses.
